Brian F. Tankersley, CPA.CITP, CGMA
Brian Tankersley is a consultant who advises US firms and companies on accounting technology issues. Mr. Tankersley is a frequent speaker at continuing education courses for K2 Enterprises, writes for multiple accounting media outlets, and publishes a nationally recognized blog on accounting and technology (www.cpatechblog.com). Mr. Tankersley has over 25 years of professional experience, including accounting, auditing, technology, and education, has been with K2 Enterprises since 2005.
Tankersley has been recognized eight times as one of the "Top 25 Thought Leaders in Public Accounting Technology" by Cygnus Business Media. Brian has made presentations in 48 of the 50 US states and has served as a guest speaker for many professional accounting organizations across Canada. He has received numerous awards for his writing and speaking from state CPA societies. Brian has presented sessions at most major national accounting technology conferences, including AICPA TECH+/Practitioners Conference, The Sleeter Group's Solutions Conference, Sage Summit, CCH Connections, and Thomson Reuters Synergy User Conference.
Brian is a certified public accountant (Tennessee), a certified information technology professional (CITP), and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He holds bachelor's degrees in both Accounting and Finance, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee. Tankersley also maintains numerous vendor software certifications, and is a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
Brian and his family make their home in Farragut, Tennessee.

Jay Hancock is a Shareholder of LBMC, PC, and leads the firm's State and Local Tax practice. Jay has significant experience assisting taxpayers with a variety of state and local tax issues, including developing multistate tax minimization studies and reorganization strategies for public and private companies; advising with respect to nexus and tax liability concerns; analyzing state tax ramifications stemming from mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; identifying and securing state tax credits and negotiated incentives; and managing and resolving state audits, appeals and ruling requests.
Prior to coming to LBMC in 2019, Jay served as a Managing Director with EY in its Nashville office. He has over 26 years of state and local tax experience. He got his start in state and local taxation in 1996 by serving as an Assistant AG in the Tax Division of the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, where he represented the Tennessee Department of Revenue in state tax litigation, assisted administrative agencies in applying the law and developing regulations, and authored opinions on various state and local tax issues.
Jay obtained his JD from the University of Maryland. He and his wife Linda both attended the University of Tennessee for undergraduate studies. They reside in Brentwood, Tennessee, and have three adult children.

BRETT R. CARTER, ESQ., is a founding member of Carter Shelton Jones, PLC a tax boutique law firm in Nashville, Tennessee, representing clients on all state and local tax matters, business planning and estate and succession planning.. Mr. Carter represents taxpayers before the Tennessee Department of Revenue and local taxing authorities as well as the Chancery and Appellate courts of Tennessee, focusing on all Tennessee taxes, including Tennessee sales and use tax, franchise and excise tax, property tax and business tax. He also assists taxpayers with tax planning related to Tennessee and multistate tax matters. Mr. Carter is a frequent lecturer on Tennessee and multistate tax matters for national organizations such as IPT, COST and various state and local tax institutes. Mr. Carter is also a contributing author to the ABA Property Tax Deskbook (Tennessee) and State Tax Notes. He is a member of the Tennessee and Nashville Bar Associations, the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, the American Bar Association Tax Section, and the Independent SALT Alliance. Mr. Carter received his BS degree in Accounting from the University of Tennessee, his law degree (with honors) from the University of Memphis, and his LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. He clerked for Chief Judge Mary Ann Cohen on the United States Tax Court.

Randy has been a Principal with CIC Services since 2012. He has been a Marketing and Communications professional since 2007 when he joined Procter & Gamble’s Brand Management Group. His career transitions have taken him from P&G to Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, the Ellison Group, and Jewelry Television. He now leads Marketing and Client Empowerment for CIC Services, LLC.
Randy has an entrepreneurial bent and is active in investment real estate. He is an owner and principal in Woodlands Management, LLC, where his partnerships manage over 400 residential properties.
Randy received his Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy in 1992. He resides in Knoxville, TN, with his wife of 31 years, Shannon. They have five children. Randy and Shannon helped found a Classical Christian School in Knoxville, which is now in its 21st year with over 230 students. Randy continues to serve as school board president.
