What's an accountant, and what exactly do they do?
Accountants are the backbone of the business world. They're the professionals who work with clients – from individuals and small companies to large corporations, government agencies and nonprofits – to keep their finances in check.
Accountants can be very generalized or incredibly specialized in the work they do. A degree in accounting, along with passing the CPA Exam, will open doors to a variety of career options, so consider taking your accounting career to a higher level by becoming a certified public accountant (CPA). CPAs are licensed professionals who can do more than your average accountant (such as provide attestation services).
