TN State-Specific Ethics CPE Requirement

Accountancy Rule 0020-05-.03(b) currently requires all active license holders to earn at least two hours of Tennessee State Board of Accountancy (TNSBA)-approved state-specific ethics courses during each CPE reporting cycle. Effective Jan. 1, 2018, there will be only one version of this course approved by TNSBA available for licensees to complete to meet the state-specific ethics requirement. This approved version will be available to all licensees in both live presentations and a convenient online format accessible through TNSBA’s website. TNSBA has partnered with TSCPA to help ensure that the most current and accurate state-specific content is included in the course material.

TNSBA now requires all sponsors/providers of the Tennessee State-Specific Ethics Course to be pre-approved by TNSBA prior to instructing the course. Sponsors will be required to demonstrate their compliance with certain requirements prior to approval. Sponsors not pre-approved annually by TNSBA staff will not be recognized by the board as an acceptable Tennessee State-Specific Ethics Course provider.

Please visit the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy website for additional information on laws and rules.
