O'Connor Receives Emerging Leader Award From Tennessee Society of CPAs
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Keith O’Connor, CPA, of Knoxville, was recently presented with the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (TSCPA) 2023 TSCPApex Emerging Leader Award.
The TSCPApex Awards Program recognizes the many ways that individuals contribute significant time, energy and intellect to developing the accounting profession and fostering its success. The Emerging Leader Award is presented to an individual who has made noteworthy professional accomplishments and stood out in the areas of professional knowledge, skill, integrity and leadership.
Notably, in his career, O’Connor has been able to achieve partner/vice president in just 10 years at Pugh CPAs. In his service to the society, O’Connor has served as president of TSCPA’s Knoxville Chapter, and he has also worked to assist in the creation and implementation of the TSCPA Young Leadership Development program.
The TSCPA Young Leadership Development program is designed to create opportunities for the future generation of the accounting profession to cultivate leadership skills, learn more about the society and network with other young professionals. O’Connor has been instrumental in organizing and coordinating the speakers for the program, who present to up-and-coming accounting professionals within the TSCPA Knoxville Chapter area for four monthly sessions coordinated the same days as chapter meetings. After each session, the participants are invited into the chapter meeting to gain more exposure to the society and continue to build relationships.
O’Connor is also serving a three-year term on the TSCPA Board of Directors, TSCPA Council and TSCPA Educational and Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees.
