Lipe Receives Women to Watch Award From Tennessee Society of CPAs
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Ellen Lipe, CPA, SFO, CMFO, of Greeneville, was recently presented with the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (TSCPA) 2023 TSCPApex Women to Watch (Emerging Leader) Award.
The TSCPApex Awards Program recognizes the many ways that individuals contribute significant time, energy and intellect to developing the accounting profession and fostering its success. The Women to Watch (Emerging Leader) Award highlights the accomplishments of women in the profession and demonstrates to emerging female leaders that success is not out of reach.
Lipe has been dedicated to making a difference in the field of public education and local government. This past year, she has served as president of the Tennessee Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). Under Lipe’s leadership, the organization’s annual professional development conference had the highest attendance in the conference’s 55-year history. In addition to serving as president, she was named TASBO's Emerging Leader in 2019 and represents its board in the Southeastern Association of School Business Officials (SASBO).
In 2019, Ellen was the third person in Tennessee to earn the Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations (SFO) title through the Association of School Business Officials International. In 2021, she earned her Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO) certification through the University of Tennessee's Municipal Technical Advisory Services division. She is currently CFO of Greeneville City Schools, and her future professional goals include earning her doctoral degree.
