Accounting Opportunities Month: Get Involved!
The AICPA and state societies, including TSCPA, have designated November as Accounting Opportunities Month. During the month, the society and its members will work to raise awareness of accounting career opportunities by visiting schools across the state to engage with the next generation of accounting professionals.
Throughout the month, CPAs will visit elementary, middle and high schools in Tennessee. The program is designed to increase interest in the various career opportunities that an accounting degree can provide. The presentations and related materials will also highlight the entrepreneurial aspects of the profession and how a degree in accounting can open the doors to many different career pathways.
“During last year’s Accounting Opportunities Week outreach events, TSCPA volunteers were able to connect with students and teachers all across our state, reaching a total of 451 elementary school students and 463 high school students,” said TSCPA President/CEO Kara Fitzgerald, CPA, CGMA, CAE. “I am excited to expand the program to a full month and engage even more students as we work to build the future of the accounting profession with diverse, high quality talent.”
