Staff Spotlight: Justin Steele
TSCPA’s Director of Professional Development & Events Justin Steele has spent nearly his entire career in the association management profession. After graduating from Christopher Newport University with his undergraduate degree, Justin moved to Nashville in 2005 for his first job out of college. From there, he discovered his passion for event planning. “I found how much I enjoyed the process of putting events together and decided I wanted to dedicate my career to this field,” he says.
In his role at TSCPA, where he has worked since 2015, Justin provides oversight of TSCPA’s continuing professional education program, working to develop the CPE program’s strategy and plan events. He also provides oversight of TSCPA’s Meeting Center. “I love when months of event planning pay off with a great event that our members enjoy attending,” Justin says. “Their feedback saying how much they enjoyed attending is very rewarding.”
Originally from the Washington, D.C., area, Justin currently lives in Nashville with his wife, Carol. He says he is a big sports fan, especially hockey and football, and enjoys traveling the country for sports. “My bucket list is attending NHL and NFL games in every arena/stadium across the country,” he says. In his free time, Justin enjoys bourbon tastings, smoking meats and playing golf.
