Staff Spotlight: Gina Carota
If you have been involved in the peer review program with TSCPA, chances are you have spoken with TSCPA Peer Review Specialist Gina Carota. For Gina, working with people has been central to her career. “I’ve had service-oriented jobs with a lot of people interaction ever since I started working,” she says. “In addition to corporate jobs in benefits and human resources, I have worked in the fitness and retail industries.”
In her role at TSCPA, where she has worked since 2020, Gina administers all aspects of the peer review program for Tennessee firms. “I like the balance between people interaction and data analysis,” she says. “I never expected to make a career change at this point in my life, but there are so many aspects of working with peer review program that I enjoy. The staff and work culture at TSCPA are exceptional!”
Growing up, Gina’s father was in the Air Force, and she has lived in Germany, Minnesota, Illinois, Massachusetts and Texas. She attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate degree and Vanderbilt University for her master’s degree. Gina is passionate about encouraging others to focus on wellness and exercise and says she is a big advocate of women engaging in strength training. Her current favorite types of exercise are walking with her Great Pyrenees mix dog, barre classes and strength training.
