Day Receives TSCPA John Glenn Award for Top Score on Uniform CPA Exam in Tennessee
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) has named Nathaniel Day as the recipient of the 2024 TSCPA John Glenn Award. Each year, the John Glenn Award honors the successful candidate who achieved the highest score on the Uniform CPA Exam in Tennessee and successfully passed all four parts of the exam on the first attempt.
Day graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Human & Organizational Development and English in 2022. In 2023, he earned a Master of Accountancy from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management, graduating first in his class.
“After graduating with a degree in HOD and English, I felt that obtaining a master’s in accountancy (and ultimately, my CPA) would allow me to expand my skill set and create a unique triangulation of disciplines that would differentiate me from my peers entering the workforce,” says Day. “By obtaining my CPA, I've added technical knowledge to my liberal arts background, opening an entirely new door of professional opportunity and possibility.”
Day’s success on the exam has also earned him recognition from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as one of the Elijah Watt Sells Award recipients for 2023. He currently lives in Chicago and works for Deloitte as a first-year audit assistant.
