Frasier Receives CPA of the Year Award From Tennessee Society of CPAs
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Charles Frasier, CPA, of Nashville, was recently presented with the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (TSCPA) 2024 TSCPApex CPA of the Year Award.
The TSCPApex Awards Program recognizes the many ways that individuals contribute significant time, energy and intellect to developing the accounting profession and fostering its success. The CPA of the Year Award recognizes a CPA who has made outstanding contributions toward advancing the accounting profession.
As an accounting professor, Frasier served countless students throughout his career, making an impact on generations of CPAs. Frasier spent the majority of his teaching career at Lipscomb University, where he taught for nearly 50 years and served as chair of the accounting department from 2000 until his retirement in 2018. Further illustrating the significance of his influence at Lipscomb, an academic chair was established in Frasier’s name in 2015 by a group of his former students who are now leaders in Nashville’s business community.
In addition to his career as an educator, Frasier has contributed his knowledge of accounting to bettering the profession in many other ways. Alongside his teaching, he worked in public accounting, founding the firm Frasier, Dean & Howard. In his 52 years of TSCPA membership, Frasier has been president of the Nashville Chapter, has served on several committees and has been a member of TSCPA Council since 1984. He has also made significant contributions to TSCPA’s Tennessee CPA Journal as co-author of the “Accounting & Auditing” column from 2013 to 2020. Outside of TSCPA, Frasier has served on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Auditing Standards Board, the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy, the Metropolitan Nashville Audit Committee, the Tennessee Society of Accounting Educators and the Nashville Chapter of Financial Executives International.
