Morgan Receives Lifetime Achievement Award From Tennessee Society of CPAs
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – David Morgan, CPA/PFS, of Brentwood, was recently presented with the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (TSCPA) 2024 TSCPApex Lifetime Achievement Award.
The TSCPApex Awards Program recognizes the many ways that individuals contribute significant time, energy and intellect to developing the accounting profession and fostering its success. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given in recognition of a TSCPA member who has exhibited leadership, made significant contributions to the profession and had an outstanding record of service to the society and the local community.
A TSCPA member and CPA for 48 years, Morgan has served the society in many leadership roles, including as the 2000-2001 TSCPA Board Chair. He has also served on countless committees and has been a member of TSCPA Council since 1986.
Outside the society, Morgan has held leadership roles in many organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and his alma mater Tennessee Technological University. He recently received the Outstanding Philanthropy Award from Tennessee Tech, recognized as one of five outstanding graduates for his longtime support of scholarships and faculty.
As a business leader, Morgan’s vision and ambition have brought him success on a national level. In 1984, he co-founded the firm Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, now known as LBMC. Morgan’s leadership has been instrumental in the firm’s growth from a company of 12 employees to more than 850 today. LBMC is also now one of the nation’s top 30 accounting and professional services firms. Having retired from the CPA firm in 2015, Morgan continues his work with LBMC Financial Services, where he currently serves as chairman and president. Morgan’s philanthropic legacy has also continued with the establishment of the LBMC Cares Foundation in 2022.
