BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Kathy Watts, CPA, CHC, of Brownsville, was recently presented with the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (TSCPA) 2024 TSCPApex Women to Watch (Experienced Leader) Award.

The TSCPApex Awards Program recognizes the many ways that individuals contribute significant time, energy and intellect to developing the accounting profession and fostering its success. The Women to Watch (Experienced Leader) Award highlights the accomplishments of women in the profession and demonstrates to emerging female leaders that success is not out of reach.

Throughout her career, Watts has been a trailblazer for women in the accounting profession and in business. Watts’ influence in the accounting profession has also been acknowledged on a national level; in 2018, she was named one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and CPA Practice Advisor.

As a partner at HORNE LLP, Watts’ focus is on client advisory and tax services. She has collaborated with hundreds of business owners and leaders, providing strategic counsel and assistance ranging from initial startup to succession plans. Previously, Watts led HORNE’s health care practice for 12 years. She also played a major role in driving a culture of belonging within the firm by leading the launch of the Belonging at HORNE initiative.
