Staff Spotlight: Julia Johnson
TSCPA recently welcomed its newest staff member, Julia Johnson, who will serve the society as events and development manager. As an experienced professional, Julia has worked for both small firms and large firms in a variety of capacities. She says, “In my various roles, I wore many hats. Part of that (which I always enjoyed) included event planning, and I learned a lot from the partners I worked with about business development and how to build and maintain relationships. That part comes naturally when you believe in the mission and values of your organization.”
In her role at TSCPA, where she has worked since April, Julia is responsible for CPE programs, TSCPA event execution and administration, and business development. She has already played an integral part in TSCPA’s spring conferences and convention. Of her aptitude for event planning, Julia says, “Anyone that knows me from my personal life will tell you that I love to plan events and entertain. That definitely comes from my mother, who is the ultimate hostess.”
Born and raised in Nashville, Julia has lived here her whole life. “I met my late husband, Walt, in second grade, and we were married for almost 30 years,” she says. “Together, we raised two wonderful children, Maggie and Turner, and I have since gained a son-in-law, Kevin. I also have two Goldendoodle fur babies.”
