Accounting Opportunities Month 2024: Get Involved!
The AICPA and state societies, including TSCPA, have designated November as Accounting Opportunities Month. During the month, TSCPA and its members will work to raise awareness of accounting career opportunities by visiting schools across the state to engage with the next generation of accounting professionals.
The program is designed to increase interest in the various career opportunities that an accounting degree can provide. The presentations and related materials will also highlight the entrepreneurial aspects of the profession and how a degree in accounting can open the doors to many different career pathways.
“During last year’s Accounting Opportunities Month outreach events, TSCPA volunteers made 28 school visits all across our state, connecting with nearly 1,400 students,” said TSCPA President/CEO Kara Fitzgerald, CPA, CGMA, CAE. “I’m excited to work with our member volunteers and school partners to engage with even more students this year.”
If you have a school or teacher contact that might be interested in having a CPA visit their class, or if you are interested in visiting schools to share your own story, contact TSCPA Students & Emerging Professionals Manager Megan Williams at mwilliams@tscpa.com or 615-377-3825 for more information.
