You may know people who believe, “Good is never good enough.” They are sharp, driven, push themselves, have lofty standards, and may focus on the negative. They wear themselves out and others as well. Could they be perfectionists? Perhaps we have some of these tendencies? We will discuss perfectionists from several perspectives and how to harness their skills to enhance results. Perfectionism is a mindset, not a disease. We will review actions to take so that perfectionists may learn how to transform their behaviors. Based on research and proven methods, we will discuss tactics that may help. If you know at least one perfectionist, this session will significantly help you and them.

Thursday, June 11 Schedule

8 - 9:40 a.m. CPE Session - From Experimentation to ROI: Leading AI Adoption in CPA Practices - Jon Hilton

This session examines the current state of AI adoption across industries and why the vast majority of enterprise AI initiatives fail to deliver measurable results — not because of the technology, but because of gaps in leadership, strategy, and organizational readiness. Drawing on research from MIT, McKinsey, BCG, and other leading sources, Jon Hilton explores the widening performance gap between AI leaders and laggards, the rise of agentic AI and its implications for the SaaS industry, and real-world examples of AI delivering results in healthcare, manufacturing, and finance.  Participants will leave with a practical framework for leading AI adoption — including how to identify high-impact use cases, invest in workforce readiness, and avoid the common pitfalls that derail AI initiatives.

10 - 10:50 a.m. CPE Session - Your Outsourcing Playbook - Kim Beauchamp, CPA

This session will provide guidance and tips on how to successfully launch a global workforce. Additionally, the session will provide guidance on avoiding some of the pitfalls and delays that can often happen when initiating an outsourcing program.

10:50 - 11 a.m. Break

11 - 11:50 a.m. CPE Session - Family Dynamics: The Intersection of Money and Emotion - Jay Harris, CFP, CIMA, CPWA, CEPA

The presentation Family Dynamics: The Intersection of Money and Emotion explores how financial decision making is deeply shaped by personal history, relationships, and emotional patterns within families. Participants will learn to identify the underlying beliefs and behavioral dynamics that often influence conversations about money—both positively and negatively.

A key objective is to help attendees recognize how family roles, communication styles, and generational experiences can create tension or alignment when discussing financial goals. By understanding these dynamics, professionals can better support clients in navigating emotionally charged financial decisions with empathy and clarity.

Another central learning objective is to equip participants with strategies to facilitate healthier, more productive money conversations among family members. This includes techniques for uncovering emotional triggers, addressing conflicting values, and fostering transparency during planning discussions. Additionally, the presentation aims to enhance participants’ awareness of how major financial events—such as inheritance, retirement transitions, or caregiving responsibilities—can amplify emotional responses and affect long term decision making. Ultimately, attendees will gain a more holistic understanding of the human side of finance, enabling them to guide families toward more thoughtful, collaborative, and resilient financial outcomes.
