Appalachian Message – May 2026

Hello Appalachian Chapter members,

I hope everyone has enjoyed a smooth start to the spring season and a well-earned break following another busy cycle of deadlines. As we move into May, I am pleased to share updates on our chapter leadership, upcoming meeting and other TSCPA opportunities.

I am honored to serve alongside our 2026 chapter officers, who officially began their terms on April 1. Our leadership team includes President-Elect Lohan Kotze, Vice President Shana Cooper, and Secretary/Treasurer Melissa Bledsoe. I look forward to working with each of them as we continue to strengthen our chapter and enhance the member experience.

Please join us for our May chapter meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. We are excited to welcome Appalachian chapter member Shana Cooper as our speaker, who will present “Building Client Relationships that Drive Growth.”

TSCPA is going coastal to Isle of Palms, South Carolina, for the 95th Annual Meeting and Convention, June 9–12, 2026. One of the highlights of the convention is the silent auction fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting TSCPA Educational & Memorial Foundation. Each year, TSCPA chapters support the auction by donating items and experiences, helping fund more than $300,000 annually in scholarships for Tennessee accounting students.

We invite you to consider donating an item or experience to this year’s silent auction. Suggested donations include airline miles, hotel points, vacation property stays, event or season tickets, and unique experiences or gift packages. To donate, please email Karen Eversman at keversman@tscpa.com.

Thank you again for your support this year. I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events.

Sincerely,

Emily Cokeley, CPA
TSCPA Appalachian Chapter President
